Why We are Here
The Christian Science Reading Room is maintained by the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Birmingham. It was established:

To be a visible presence of Christian Science in the Birmingham area.

To provide a spiritual haven for those seeking Truth.

To be a source for literature published or sold by The Christian Science Publishing Society, particularly Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and her other writings.

The reading room serves people who live and work in Birmingham, the surrounding area, and throughout all of Alabama.

In addition to reading the Weekly Bible Lesson, The Christian Science Monitor, and other Christian Science literature, the Reading Room invites you to:

When We are Open

The Christian Science Reading Room is open five days a week
(except for U.S. Holidays) and the first and third Wednesday of each month.
